Once hired, the Janesville Fire Department provides training through our Fire Academy. Our firefighters will go through scenarios involving, hoseline advancement, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) confidence and confined spaces, live fire training, rapid intervention team scenarios, ladders and vehicle extrication to name a few. They will also go through orientation with our paramedic preceptors, to become affiliated with our medical direction and to begin practicing as Paramedics with the JFD.

The IAFF Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Treatment and Recovery is a one-of-a-kind addiction treatment facility specializing in PTSD for IAFF members – and IAFF members only – who are struggling with addiction, PTSD other related behavioral health challenges to receive the help they need in taking the first steps toward recovery. It is a safe haven for members to talk with other members who have faced or overcome similar challenges.

We are the men and women of the Professional Firefighters of Kenosha WI, IAFF L414. We strive to serve the community both on and off duty through our work.
